Saint Mary's College of California


The Department of Mathematics & Computer Science has a recently-restructured major. We offer a B.S. degree in Mathematics with three different tracks:

  • Pure: for students bound for graduate school and for future teachers
  • Applied: for students bound for an industry career immediately after graduation, or for students interested in advanced studies in other sciences
  • Computer Science: for students interested in scientific computation

We also offer double/split majors and minors in mathematics. Please see Degree Programs for more details.

Students entering in 2013 or earlier  are expected to complete the required courses for the B.S. or B.A. degree with a Major in Mathematics or with a Major in Mathematics with Concentration in Computer Science as described on the course catalog of their entering year.  For more information please see our Course Planning Guide.
