Math Mondays

This monthly colloquium series features speakers from the SMC Math & CS Department, as well as their colleagues from other institutions. The talks, which explore various mathematical topics, are accessible those from a wide variety of mathematical backgrounds and interests.

Pi Day

Pi Day is celebrated each year on March 14th (3.14). Traditionally, the Math & CS Department organizes fun pi-related activities for both professors and students to enjoy. Past events include “Pi Your Professor”, “Pi at the Exploratorium”, “Pi Memorizing Contest” and “Measuring Pi on Foot”.

Math and Physics BBQs

At the beginning of each Fall and Spring semester, the Math and Physics Departments host a joint BBQ for current and prospective majors and minors of both department.

Math Seniors Dinner

At the end of each Spring semester, the Math Department invites senior math majors to dinner at the Pyramid Alehouse, in celebration of their upcoming graduation!
