Every Monday the math department hosts a tea for majors, minors and faculty to take a study break and enjoy good company (as well as our department's famous cookies).

The math department has a monthly colloquia series. Speakers from the SMC math department as well as friends from elsewhere will be giving hour long talks on various topics of mathematical interest.

.:: Pi Day ::.
Pi Day is celebrated on March 14th. Traditionally, the Math department organizes fun and Pi related activities for professors and students to enjoy. In the past, we've had ``Pi You Professor", ``Pi at the Exploratorium", ``Pi Memorizing Contest" and ``Measuring Pi on Foot".

At the beginning of every Fall semester, the Math department and the Physics department hosts a joint BBQ for current and prospective majors and minors of both department.
