About: After growing up in Mountain View and Palo Alto, Professor Hamaker studied in Ohio and Oregon, taught in Boston and Kansas, and then arrived at Saint Mary’s in 1985. He and his wife have raised four children, and recently became grandparents in September 2015. Professor Hamaker’s free time is spent hiking, biking, and running (on the active side), and reading, particularly science fiction (on the sedentary side). Very odd tidbit: In 1970, Professor Hamaker was on the team that won the North American championship in tiddlywinks.
