About:  After growing up in Mountain View and Palo Alto, Prof. Hamaker studied in Ohio and Oregon, taught in Boston and Kansas, and then arrived at Saint Mary’s in 1985. He and his wife have raised 4 children, and recently became grandparents in September 2015. Prof. Hamaker’s free time is spent hiking, biking, and running (on the active side), and reading, particularly science fiction (on the sedentary side). Very odd tidbit: In 1970, Prof. Hamaker was on the team that won the North American championship in tiddlywinks.
